Did you know that First Responders (Police, Fire, EMS, etc.) have higher divorce rates, suicide rates, and deal with depression and loneliness more than any other profession?
We must realize that our First Responders are human beings who need to process the events they deal with on a daily basis. Many First Responders do not take what they see into their homes (talk about it with family) and thus bottle it in. This creates all kinds of problems that lead to the issues listed above and many others not listed. What is astounding is that the majority of the people we trust with our public safety do not have a qualified chaplain on staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For most agencies, this is due to funding. For those who are fortunate enough to have a chaplain, they usually have only one which makes it impossible to adequately handle the work load of being there for all personnel, not to mention being available for those in the community the First Responders serve. The mission of Homeland Chaplain Services is to show care, love, and compassion to those in critical need by making qualified nondenominational chaplains available to First Responders and the communities they serve at no cost, 24/7. For departments who have a chaplain on staff, we are a partner to help lighten the load and make their office more effective. For those who have nothing, we are a great resource. We have just begun our fundraising to begin this work in the Pacific Northwest. Would you consider giving your best gift possible to help us help those who serve? All donations are tax deductive. Thank you for your support! -Arron Daniels Chief of Homeland Chaplain Services |
